In the U.S., 42% of the public infrastructure projects report delays or cost overruns. To mitigate this problem, regulators scrutinize the project operations. But is oversight the best path to increased efficiency?

In his paper, "Oversight and Efficiency in Public Projects," published in Management Science, IESE's Eduard Calvo and his co-authors identify how companies and regulators can increase efficiency when they join forces on public projects.
